The best you can do

Not every person is your ideal (or even close to ideal) customer.

Not every ‘ideal’ customer is ready for your service today.

Trying to convert them when you’re not right for them (and they’re not right for you) is a waste of time.

But ignoring them is not right – or smart – either.

Help them out, write a blog post, try to solve their problems. Stay in their mind (without being annoying).

But hassling and haranguing them at the wrong moment or when they’re not a good fit won’t get you where you want to be.

The best you can do is to help them with the understanding that most people you help will never be your customer (or refer anyone else).

In that mass of people though are a few people that will one day be right for you (or know someone who is).

It might take a few months or a few years, but when they are ready they’ll remember you because you did the best that you could for them, whenever you were able to before.
