Amazon offering freebies when cancelling Audible membership

When going to cancel my £7.99 / month Audible membership today – due to being behind on all the books I’ve ordered so far and not looking like catching up any time soon – I was offered some deals by Amazon to stick around.

Two of the three options I saw on ‘cancelling’
  • Option to pause my Audible membership for 30, 60 or 90 days (I went for the latter) and maintain your membership benefits
  • Get a free, extra book credit (on top of the usual monthly one) and continue paying £7.99 a month
  • Pay a reduced £3.99 / month for three months and get one book credit a month as usual.

I guess this shouldn’t be a huge surprise that Amazon offers deals like this, after all they want to keep their customers, but I thought I’d share for the other Audible account owners out there who might just want to try getting a free book or cheaper books for three months.

Of course, I make no guarantee of your success or otherwise. And one word of warning, I would make sure you’ve used all your existing free credits before pressing the cancel button as you may lose them.

(I’ve no idea if it makes any difference, but I’d been a member on their Audible UK store for four months (four book) credits when I did the above)
